    CANON
History: Zhosma was born into the Alternian lower-middle-class. Ironically, her comparative unimportance allowed her a great deal of freedom and, lacking psychic powers, she was able to grow up without coming to the attention of the higher-blooded adult authorities. Of course, she wasn't protected by (or from) them either. Almost as soon as she was independently mobile, she and her lusus took to the woods, and later to the roads, traveling from town to town and trading meat and animal skins for the luxuries of civilization. She never stayed in any town for long, not after the third dim season when she was five. There were highbloods who thought it was funny to burn lowblood apartments down and place bets on who would find somewhere to hide before sunup. In the wilderness, there was nothing she couldn't fight, and she could make her own terms for dealing with other trolls. She encountered another group of nomadic trolls briefly, who taught her to make horn jewelry and songs, and she began trading in those as well. It was a happy life, or so she considered it by comparison to the other choices she saw around her. She thought that she was lucky to have made it so far with so few scars.

Then one of her visits to a town market square coincided with that of a redblooded mutant, and everything changed. Signless spoke about a better world, a world in which everyone could be happy, a world in which she wouldn't have to thank her sign for letting her choose between company and safety. When he spoke, she listened, and then she stayed around to argue with him about the finer points of his sermon. When he moved on, she went with him. In time, Zhosma, who had never had an adult name of her own before, came to be called the Disciple.

When she was taken, Zhosma was living with the Signless, the Dolorosa, the Psiioniic, and a growing cadre of their associates in a mix of a grassroots political movement and a nomadic tribe. She often functioned as advance scout for the group, either sneaking through the woods or taking advantage of her nondescript hemocaste to wander into new towns and check them out. She also recorded sermons, quotations, and amusing anecdata, in no particular organization, confident that one day historturers would want to know everything possible about the troll who changed the world.

(It wouldn’t exactly work out that way, but she doesn’t know that.)

Personality: Zhosma is at heart a friendly and outgoing person, albeit with a harsh edge common to most trolls. She truly believes in Signless's philosophy of goodwill and tries to live by it as much as she can. She likes laughing and joking with her friends. She's fond of wordpurrrrlay *wordplay and can keep up in a game of wits far better than her quasi-feral appearance suggests. She is also very physically affectionate with people she considers friends, and she makes friends with glee and enthusiasm.

That said, she is a troll and used to living wild. She's comfortable with violence; though she tries not to resort to lethal force in conflicts with other people, she doesn't try as hard as some. She has an ingrained distrust and dislike of people who consider themselves her social superiors, which mostly results in a desire to sass the fuck out of them. Mostly.

All in all, she is/was in a pretty good place emotionally: a solid community, a vocation that seems to be picking up steam, super fun significant others. Even though she’s forgotten them, their influence grounds and supports her.

    INTO THE HEDGE
    Seeming: Possession.
    Role: Typewriter.
Abilities: Zhosma’s verbal memory was always good, but now it’s eidetic: she can remember any words she’s heard (while in the manor, obviously), and if she chooses she can print them out; a paper with the words written in green ink will disgorge itself from her mouth. (She cannot, however, print false information or something that hasn’t been said out loud or typed into her physical form, any more than a typewriter can print something without the keys being struck.)
Description: Her spiritual form mostly still looks like a young adult troll: medium to short, grey skin, yellow horns, black hair, eyes with yellow sclera and green irises. The changes are more textural than visual, and oddly more offputting for that. Her hair falls in broad, flat strands, smooth, like ink ribbons. The grey of her skin is a little more like matte metal than it should be; blurred letters in Alternian script move across it, forming words that are never quite legible. Slightly raised, round keys or buttons wrap around her ribs in neat rows of letters where the bone is closest to skin; numbers and symbols march down her spine. Every few sentences she speaks, one of her horns goes ‘ding!’. (She still bleeds olive, of course, but she prints olive too. Best not to think about it, nor ask her to print unnecessarily.)
Reasoning: One of the most important things about Zhosma’s narrative role is her position as recorder; she is the one to write down and disseminate the Sermons of the Signless after his death. Thus, a writing implement. Her status as troll Biblical figure leads to an old-fashioned device; however, old-fashioned to a galactic empire is a relative term.

    MEMORIES
First Memory: Sitting in a group of friends (her co-rebels), writing down what someone is saying.
Another Five: -Running from highblood law enforcement
-Smooching someone whose face she cannot quite recall
-Hanging out with Dolorosa, Signless, and Psiioniic
    -Hunting with her lusus
    -Signless in detail
